Bought my first new tire for the Ford today- an Atlas from Ray Felbinger- in preparation for our trip to Syracuse next weekend to get Mother, and arrange with Flagg to have some furniture shipped here for the new house. The house is progressing but now it begins to look a trifle doubtful if they'll have it done by June 1st.

This afternoon we took a ride out the Wattsburg road and cut over to North East and home on U.S.20. We stopped near North East to watch a country baseball game - the Nasby Indians vs. somebody, and enjoyed it a lot. Rog was engaging in a ball game in pantomime alongside the car. The fruit trees along the road were lovely especially on U.S. 20 between North East and Harbor Creek. It was hard to believe there could be much wrong with such a lovely, fresh world.

Rog is rapidly becoming a master at riding Bab's bike and also at exercising in the peach trees in the back yard, and we have our hearts in our mouths most of the time he's performing on either one. Wants a bike for his birthday.

Babbie is practicing handling a tennis racquet again and really shows much progress since her efforts at Shanty Shane last summer. I batted the ball for a long time with her in the driveway today and was much impressed with her progress. I think this summer she may be able to start playing.
