How definite this is or just what it is, I don't know but it gives me a tremendous lift. I literally felt like a new man afterward. It means if nothing else, that I'm good enough to be under consideration for a better job, which is something. There are rumors of reorganization - perhaps it has something to do with that. At any rate it spurs me to do a better job than ever before.

Mac and I spent some time in the grill afterward and as I say, I felt like a new man. The whole affair seemed to take on new meaning, and I new importance and self-confidence. I spoke to more people, I acted better, less retiring. It was really great. I'm sorry I didn't try to get more out of Eddie but maybe it was just as well. Winder of Switchgear Sales, counterpart of F.D.R., sat with us and Brooks of Buffalo, the latter getting 80 to 85% of Rochester Gas & Electric business. Winder expatiated on how they work hand in glove with the Navy Dept. and as a result get some terrific business and at terrific profit. We're a bunch of pikers here at Erie compared to some of these other Depts. We aren't in such a favorable position but there ought to be some way to get into it!

I didn't feel so badly about last night when I saw a couple of cuties sitting at the table with Grim of Atlanta, Jones of San Francisco, Henry Guy, etc. Mac and I left at 11 PM and went to Apt. 8, Colonial Apts. for some Strauss waltzes before going to bed. It was perfect.
