I fear we are about to lose Miss Lang either to Bert Miller or Walt Harris as is our usual luck just when we are getting happy with a stenographer, and I think Miss Lang is perhaps the best all around one we've ever had - and only for eight months at that! I wouldn't blame Bert or Walt for wanting her or her for accepting but it is damned aggravating from our standpoint.

Am getting my work pretty well polished off so I can leave next Tuesday for the Maine Central with a fairly clean slate. Had a fellow from the Wabash here today and Doc and Henry Guy seem to think they have the 43 ton P.P.G. demonstration about sold to him. I certainly hope so.

Roger is much better today, looking almost himself again. This evening, I took him and Bab for a ride top down, to the Public Dock, then up to Glenwood where we dropped in on the Harrises, with whom we are going to the Kahkwa Club Family Outing on the Fourth. I tried to impress Rog with the fact Bruce was run down by a car last fall while riding his bike carelessly on the street and had three ribs broken. Rog now rides in the street (as do all the others of all ages) but we are nervous wrecks worrying about him when he's doing it.

This evening, Mother, Willie and I went to the Hofbrau with Ben and Tony and had a swell time. Mother enjoyed it I know. Fritz is back and he makes the show. They have a pretty, young, new soprano who is a wow. The quartet is back, Miss Mildred, the blues
