and shoulder the responsibilities I have to make good in my work and in my personal life 100%. I have a lot of confidence in my ability to rise a long way in my profession and in my personal position if and when I put my shoulder generally to the wheel and give my life, all phases of it, all the talent and properly directed knowledge and intelligence I have. The time is here to do it and I must get going. I owe it to my family and myself to do it and I am going forward from here on in every phase of my living, personal and professional. I have a fine mind but most of the time I have been too mentally lazy to use it. When I have used it, it has produced good results almost always. My job is to cultivate the use of it with regard to my job, my work, national affairs, etc, to get a man's attitude toward life and work, and not to go on living the helter-skelter, catch as catch can, trust to luck system of unguided activity of the past. If and when I can capture the system and keep myself in it continuously, my star will rise higher and keep rising just so long as I keep applying myself intelligently to the tasks of life and business.

After last night's festivities, we were glad to stay abed until 9 AM and as it was cloudy and chill today, we had a rather quiet time. I did a few odd settling jobs such as grounding the radio, etc. this morning, caught up my accounts (to find to my dismay my bank balance is approaching zero thanks to moving, insurance and vacation) and this afternoon an easy ride through the countryside. This evening a movie show, the new Shanty Shane reel being the piece de resistance, and very good.
