It just so happened my decision to return here last night was a lucky one because I found Jay Walker and Phil Hatch here on their long delayed visit and hoping I'd get back. It was good to see them both again - we three seem to be superbly at home together and we enjoyed every minute of it. After work I took them downtown and we got settled in the City Club for an old time session which lasted until about 7 PM when Phil had to run for the 7:20 train for Buffalo." Whitey" wanted us to have dinner at the Kahlewa Club with him and some Capitol Traction people but Phil had a date with his college pal in Buffalo and had to go, but promised to try and get out in a couple of weeks with Jay for a night at the Hofbrau.

I found an MO had been issued for 3 - 43 ton 4 axle locomotives, one for the B&M, although Henry and Whitey are all for getting a commitment from Gus Munster before finishing up one to B&M requirements.

We dropped Jay at Russ Johnson's and then Hank Huffman, whom we picked up in the City Club, drove out to Perk's for a poker game - Colonel, Gouldy, Compton, Hank, Perk and I - and I came out $1.50 to the good by winning just exactly that much in the cold hand that ended the evening. It was a good session, a good bunch, good stories, beer and good companionship. Jay seems to be his old self again when he's with the boys but when alone, they say he's pretty broody. Am trying to persuade him to come to Shanty Shane for a few days while we are there - he'd get a big kick out of it and it would do him good.

Found a letter from Mother that indicates she is enjoying Chautauqua which cheers me considerably. We must get up there shortly.
