Jake put up an argument to Whitey today on moving into Shapter's office but I don't know what the outcome was.

This evening we had a poker party at Gouldy's - Jake, Lynch, Bill Fraser (U.P.), Colonel, myself, Whitey and Gouldy. I won $2.25 and Jake got taken for $1.50 for once. Bill Fraser was very agreeable and I decided maybe I had judged him all wrong before. He and the Colonel sat side by side and seemed to get along famously. Also, Bill has a baby now 6 weeks old. So I think more of his wife than before too. It was a good party and it really seemed good to have old Dutch Lynch back in the game again - he was 100% tonight and lost about $3.00 with great good grace. Don't know anyone more thoroughly likeable.
