Got about half of an approximate Southern Pacific profile plotted today amid numerous interruptions. Am hopeful of really making some progress on this job now, but Doc is leaving tomorrow for New Bern, NC. on the Altantic to E. Carolina, leaving the Ford again in my care, so that will interfere with the S.P. inevitably.

Jake was back from his 6 weeks jaunt to Panama and reporting he thought they would buy some diesels and not all steam. He reported also that Lehigh-Portland Cement has bought the second of our three 43 ton stock locomotives leaving only one for the B.& M demonstration and likelihood of our selling that. before it can go to the B&M. I have been after Boston to give us a consignment requisition for the unit but so far have nothing but a number. Roy is all heated up over the chance of our selling all the stock units and postponing the B&M demonstration but when they haven't so much as a consignment requisition in here, I don't quite see how we can reject bona fide sales to keep one available. I'm sorry the thing is turning out this way but I can't see much help for it. I want them to get an order from the B&M for one loco. at least but they don't seem to want to push that angle. Now Jay Waller says the New Haven wants a demonstrator. I think we should get a new MO out for more of these 43 ton jobs right away.

Felix explained today that Stout wanted to go somewhere to eat the other night and they went to Pulakos - he walked up and down the street looking
