Found this morning that Jakes "sale" of one of the 43 ton units was a request to "reserve" one for Lehigh-Portland. So I got hold of Roy Goggin  and told him for goodness sake to get the consignment requisition over here PDQ so we'd at least have that in Erie to use as a club to keep one for the B&M. He said he had promised the B&M a demonstrator this fall and Tom Knight had promised French the same thing and  they would be in the soup if he failed to come thru. So when I get the consignment requisition in Thursday, I'll go to bat for him in earnest. It has been waiting Sales Committee approval today at Sch'dy.

"Doc" took the 10:30 AM plane today for Philadelphia, thence train to Richmond and onto New Bern, N.C. He hadn't been gone a half hour when the inevitable telegram arrived from Ford from Harvey on Ford; when would he have the dope on the small, 100 ton units we are to bid on? Tried to get him after lunch and he was out at Ford's. About 4:30 he called me and said he had the order for the 3-1000HP units I quoted on  a week ago today. In the meantime a letter had come in from Sibert saying they want more changes
