I hadn't told him. I said I'd told Henry Guy, Whitey was out of town. Well, Whitey thought that was different, told me to ask Roy the latest date he could have it and we'd see what we could do. I don't like the situation.

Willie reports that while she was standing in the bank today, Mrs. Korm came up and spoke to her very cordially - the first time Mr. K. has ever even recognized her in public. It lends credence to the thought the Korms are now anxious to rebuild some of the bridges they once burned behind them.

Had an AIEE program committee meeting and find Al Williams has let us down for this months meeting. So we shall try to get Ward Harrison from Nela Park although I think it may well be too short notice. Also they want to proposition Wendell Wilkie for a talk on utilities. I think personally it is reading a little too far for a small group like ours but am committed to checking up with Barton in N.Y. on the possibilities.

Am off for New York tonight to see Bill Hamilton tomorrow on the 400 HP 70 ton Auburn job.

Had a most interesting day today. The gang at the office seemed glad to see me. Walter Hedley said he wanted me to go to Duluth on the Oliver Iron Mining job for Alco (Doc went) but I was in Boston. He seemed to feel Doc had got the job all messed up. I don't know anything about that.

Jay looked 100% and it was good to see him.
