to worry about the maximum current out of the GT-550 generator. I knew Dick Lambon thought we were stretching it plenty far to get up to 670 amperes and this would extend it out to 750 possibly. I went down to the office this morning to check the job over and felt little better, being inclined to feel I had stuck my neck out somewhat in even offering weight shift compensation. I was pretty sure the motor was okay but the deficiency of the 550 on overload commutation never occurred to me because its continuous rating far exceeds that of the motor it drives. But it is an unbalanced machine, its overload commutation being out of proportion to its continuous capacity. We may be forced to develop a new generator anyhow for this job because the WR[[superscript 2]] of the GT550 is 10 times that of the GT-1503 used with the Cummins HB-6, and the engine may be unable to handle it. However, the whole situation disturbed me considerably all day.

This afternoon, Willie and I having pushed Rog's shack off the garage roof under cover of darkness last evening, Rog and I after much sweating, digging, heaving and cursing (mine and internal) got the shack set down in the ground again. It was out of line, the tar paper covering torn in places, and it didn't fit up against the garage snugly as it did before. But it is back in usable shape again. Personally, I think it was a dirty d--- trick but not a surprising one. Rog took it with complete equanimity somewhat to my surprise. He took it much better than I did as a matter of fact.
