- could I make it. So at noon I slipped uptown, had lunch with Roy Goggin, and then went to Delaney. He said he wouldn't recommend my going to Sch'dy tonight unless it was absolutely essential - postpone it if possible. I phoned Downing and he agreed to try to schedule it for the 23rd, the day before the AIEE in New York.

Roy, Wolf, Wakeley and I had drinks and dinner together. The interesting thing was that when I told Ken we were having dinner with Roy Groggin of our Boston Office, Ken said he had known a Roy Groggin in high school but of course, this couldn't be the same one. But it was! They hadn't met in 20 years! And they had a great time talking over the old days in Somerville. It was a real coincidence. After dinner we saw Wakeley to the station and then I brought Roy out to the house for a couple of hours, as I wanted him to meet the family and vice versa.

Went over to Bldg. 60 this morning with Johnson, the Boston Office service man who will follow the B&M 43 ton demonstration. Bob Banell went along too and as a result, we had to inaugurate changes which will delay shipment to the middle of next week - the thing just wasn't right - heating arrangements lousy, mistakes even in carrying out specific requests on the job. Roy left early for Buffalo and the Annual Buffalo Railroad Club Meeting (Dinner). Whitey and Rudy went also. Saw Whitey leaving the office early with Lynch and wondered if he was taking Wayne along with him as a "favored son" - had a tendency to disturb me, silly as I knew it was, - but Wayne was back in an
