Am going to start a campaign to get this converted to gas-electric.

The secret of success in this business game or any other, as I see it, is to see clearly what you are trying to accomplish - then scheme out a successful method of getting to the objective. One thing I must accomplish is sell Whitey on my ability from a leadership and initiative standpoint to counteract the impression "the man at my elbow" has created. On the leadership phase, I haven't much worry as I know I can make people do most anything for me - cooperate, follow fully. But on the initiative, I must concentrate plenty of effort and thought. With the initiative developed, the leadership part will automatically take care of itself. To develop the initiative angle, I must put my head to work at full and not half, throttle. If I do, I can make that rating look utterly ridiculous. I want to get before Whitey an example of initiative at least every week oftener if possible. And in all this business, I want to relax and acquire an easy, poised game, free of the tenseness and the worry Whitey criticized -- it will help immensely and there is absolutely no reason why I can't do it. I have inherent poise; it's got to be brought out.

Magner advised today the British have given the gun mount job to Hoe so there goes our last hope on the tank component proposition. They salved Magner by saying there would be bigger business later that would make us glad we didn't get this. The trouble may be it will be too big to handle, as we can't mortgage too much of our facilities for IGE business.
