Bill Hamilton here today in jovial mood to settle up most of the outstanding points on our 70 ton 400 HP job for Auburn. Bill has been very white about this job, sticking very closely to the letter of the specifications and agreements covering the job with no argument and ready to agree to extras for anything not covered. It is a pleasure to work on a job so harmoniously and my hat is off to Bill's fairness. Also I like the way Ken Wolf is doing his part - it is equally a pleasure to work with him. Frank Guillot is working hard too and by kidding him plenty, I find that we get along remarkably well. Frank likes to kid and be kidded and the system works very well. I can take his ribbing and he mine. I told him to come today prepared to go out this evening and do a little serious drinking with Ken and me after Bill left on the 9:18. So Frank appears this morning in a gray plaid suit and blue tie with red and white figures in it - pretty loud. So I got kidding him and finally started calling him "Diamond Jim" - it took, and I think Frank has acquired a new nick-name. Frank loved to kid me about being a "little dude" and is always talking about my clothes - would I give him some of my old clothes, etc. He also loves to call me "shrimp" and "squirt" - all of which I take with gusto and get along fine with him. Another of Frank's favorite topics for kidding is how "youse fourth floor guys loaf, travel and spend the Company's money while we do all the work." I like old Frank a lot and feel sorry for him because he doesn't get the consideration from Woodward he should.
