at 2:20 PM on time. It began to brighten up and finally the sun came out. Overhead was blue sky and far below, we could see the shadow of the plane racing along over the top of the clouds. Then began to come breaks in the clouds below us and we could see the snow covered earth way farther below. As we approached Buffalo, we got down below the clouds and came in to a perfect landing and on time to the minute! I transferred to the Erie - Cleveland plane, a 14 passenger Douglas and had a beautiful 40 minute ride to Erie, most of the way over the frozen lake, and in sunny, almost cloudless skies all the way. The amazing thing to me was the impossibility of judging altitude above the ice - it looked like we were just a few hundred feet up and yet when I looked at the shore on the other side, we were obviously several thousand feet up! Soon the peninsula and Erie came in view. Two minutes to go from the G.E. to Kahkwa Blvd! And then we were gliding down into the airport and there was Willie and Bab and Rog waiting for me. What a trip! Up tramping around a freight yard in Woodsville, N.H. at 1:30 this morning and back here at 3:20 in the afternoon via Boston and New York!

To make the day perfect, Reeds and Scarbroughs came in tonight for a Tripoly session and we had a swell time. Walter, to my astonishment, announced he had a new job - selling for the foundry! It nearly bowled me over. Don't know the whole story yet.
