Roy called the hospital to learn that Doc Millan has not been operated on yet until they complete some further observations. It sounded quite encouraging as the intimation was that the gall bladder might not have to be removed after all.

Neil, Roy and I planned to spend the evening in my hotel room giving the job a final review. We had dinner with Marion at Pattons where a lovely chinese girl eating nearby took everybody's eye except Roy's because he had his back to her and couldn't turn all the way around - much to his disgust. Marion is a great kidder and she chided me at some length for "falling for Eileen and now this Chinese girl." Also, Roy and Neil had run out of money and I was paying all bills and Marion thought that was terrible - they made out they weren't going to pay me so I'd have to stay in Boston over the weekend, not having enough to get home. Marion actually tried to slip me $50 under the table! She is one who is the salt of the earth.

Marion went home, we bought a bottle of Cutty Sark, and went up to my room where we talked B&M. until about 10:30 PM, getting ready for tomorrow's session with "JW" et al. things look pretty good unless Ernie gets back and throws a bombshell into us but I can't imagine what it might be.
