job is that it will put me in contact with these bigger men in the company. I have never failed to impress the superiors and an opportunity to get to these men is a big step toward a still bigger job - for I know if I apply myself to my new work I can make good. The licking of mental laziness is my biggest job.

One of the funniest things today was the way D. C. Prince kept switching his plans and with each switch we changed his travel arrangements accordingly. We made him a reservation to Schenectady first on a guess; but he wanted to go to Charleston W.Va. so we made him a reservation to Cincinnati and a plane reservation from there to Charleston - they got the plane reservation for today by mistake and that had to be changed to tomorrow. Then he heard the Charleston date was off so we made him a reservation to Schdy at his request; then he changed his mind and decided to drive to Cleveland with Blaisdell (a swell guy) and I've wound up by cancelling the Schdy reservation. There is something about Prince that makes me think of Mark Hanna - and he's a teetotaler - but a very able engineer. The only real hitch in our transportation arrangements occurred when Maynard Allen went to the hotel to get the baggage and the hotel gave him a lot of erroneous room numbers - resulting in much confusion which fortunately Maynard was finally able to straighten out after reports by guests their baggage had been stolen, etc. etc. All in all I felt our whole affair went quite smoothly and the boys had a very good time. And there's enormous work ahead.
