This evening we had Henry Guy out to dinner, something I have been intending to do for some time. Henry invited me into his place for cocktails before dinner and "Whitey" just happened in too, his family being away. We had quite a chat, some of which was devoted to Felix Felix and again it came to light that Felix's snobbery did him no good with these two. Whitey remarked that he wasn't going to give Felix his own job to stay in Erie and it seemed that was about the only condition on which he would stay so it appears Felix made quite an effort to land in our department. Apparently Felix has crashed the proper gates in Sch'dy. - I wonder how long he will last there among the élite. I think he may have a better chance there than here because Sch'dy is used to all sorts of people - is more international - but the Jew legend already has reared its ugly head over there.

Henry was plenty lit when we arrived at the house but he managed to weather the storm very well and it was a delight to entertain him. He talked a lot and interestingly as always - listened appreciately to some good music which always makes me grateful - and all in all it was a very fine evening and I think he enjoyed it. I wonder why I put off so long having him and swear it will be soon again. Henry told me to come to his apartment tomorrow morning to meet some of his friend which I was glad to accept. Old Henry is one swell gentleman - I don't know of anyone I like any more than him in our whole organization.
