So Goss is in the soup- then $750,000 for machine tools for 10 a month (against our $1,750,000 for 6) is all shot and they don't know how they can bid! They wanted us to ask for another week's extension but we are turning them down. We want to bid, get it over with, and get something in the Navys hands to make a basis for negociation. According to St.L. today the decision has been made to put a destroyer turbine job in Bldg. 2 - 6 or maybe 9 a month- an even bigger job than our 5/38 program. Also St. L got a tip from a friend of his at Sellers who us in close touch with the  Gov't. that they may put a "gun factory" in our plant here! That made St.L and me call Ducey's question in Washington last time as to how many additional employees we could scare up in Erie and St.L's estimate of 5000.
