.) Mrs. Pirtsch and her two daughters, Valerie, 14, and Beverly 11. Mrs. P. is a small, very pretty little woman of say 40, wife of a Cotton broker, from Scarsdale. He flew back to N.Y. yesterday on business. The Tafts had made their acquaintance. Valerie and Robey Taft are pals and Mrs. Taft thought Bab and Beverly would hit it off but it didn't click for some reason - I don't know whose fault it is. Bab is shy - doesn't seem to care too much about making friends. Mrs. Pritsch is very nice.

.) Mr. & Mrs. Dominay - he has a "charlie horse" from playing tennis and said he'd be glad to play with me when he recovers. Later he mentioned that he was going to play with the "pro" here, Leon, and I began to wonder if I had stepped into something, not having made a stroke since last summer. Dominay is a heavy set, square jawed, 40 ish New Yorker - evidently a pretty good athlete.

.) A Mr. Tucker introduced himself this morning - was very pleasant. I found out later he has the biggest, swankiest yacht in the harbor. He puts on no airs, wears old baggy sport suits, and probably could buy out the place if he so desired.

.) Whitney of Shanty Shane is here with his wife - the girl is in camp nearby. We met them at the barbecue supper this evening, a nice friendly, well conducted affair up at the picnic grounds off the golf course.

Shanty Shane: a family camp dating to the early 1900s.
