isn't ready to show his hand yet and will when the time is ripe.

This evening Bab picked up some clues on the shack tragedy from Harriett Glass but as Harriett is only about 6, they can't be taken too seriously. Harriett says Elizabeth Cain was present at the wrecking and while not participating was an interested spectator - also some unknown boy (not an orphan) told her he was going to wreck it - unfortunately we don't know who he is - also an orphan named Tommy Dorsey was seen leaving the scene after the work was done - also the Burns boys may have had something to do with it. Willie will question Betty Cain when she returns from Sch'dy. I would like to locate just one of the participants and then have the police just about scare him to death - he would tell the others and I think that would put an end to this business. Boyd Bert told Rog a number of garage windows have been smashed around here. Again poor little Rog was out tonight trying to salvage his garden and very cheerful and philosophical about it - it cut me through and through especially when he pointed to Willies zinnias and said, "My zinnias would have been like that now-" I could have cried easily.

One blessing is that Dusky is remarkably good since our return. He usually goes all night on the porch without doing either "job". He is quiet - lies around the house quietly, seldom offers to bite and is very friendly and affectionate. It seems almost like a miracle. He is well and peppy but more like a mature dog - and yet he still is a puppy - a beautiful little dog too.
