Gordon McDonald, Eddie Edwards, Ross Brackett, Bob Nomine and I journeyed to Edinboro for 18 holes on Culbertson today, my first golf outside vacation for a long, long time. And I learned that Culbertson and Basin Harbor are two different things - I shot 121 being bothered by lakes, woods, swamps, streams, etc. My game wasn't as straight as at Basin Harbor and I was in plenty of trouble. But we had a good time and the next time I think I can do better. If I could only keep my head down and refrain from trying to kill the ball, I think I'd shoot a pretty fair game. Also I've got to discipline myself on cursing after a bum shot. Want to try it again, follow these rules to the letter and I am sure I'd do much better.

We had Mr. & Mrs. Glass next door and her sister in this evening to see some movies and found it a very pleasant evening - movies and conversation. They left at 12:30 AM and I found the time had passed rapidly although we talked about nothing very important.

We are delighted with Dusky - he is quite docile now - loses his manners occasionally but in general is very good. He gets ill occasionally because of a proclivity for eating anything - samples: The hair off one of Bab's dolls; a lolly-pop; some stale dog food he found in the basement and gorged himself on; parts of his blanket (an old dressing gown and sweat shirt of Rog). He's a handsome little fellow with a glossy black coat, rear bow legs with feathers, a square serious face, ultra long ears which he licks after they have dangled in his food. He definitely adds something to our home.
