Mulvey about it and he told me he would [[underlined]] "guarantee" [[/underlined]] the job would get attention from now on - I should advise him Monday just what I want. In discussing the situation with "A.J." I learned they are working the men desperately hard in Bldg. 60 and last night an overworked testman died on the job! That took some wind out of me, I must admit. Tinkey is the only Cummins man here now and he is swamped on all the jobs, being used mostly on the Panama locomotives, which are terribly late and on penalty. Banell told me this morning they are out of waterboxes and test meters at Bldg. 60, it is so bad!

.) Cliff Clark phoned to say the 5"/38 job looks more hopeful and we are about to get a "letter of intent" that should allow us to proceed with ordering machine tools. Told St.L.

.) Dorticos phoned for shipping information on Doc's Milwaukee locomotive. Now at 9 PM I'm still waiting word from John Downie on the final weight of it so I can wire Bilty of the Milwaukee for shipping release tomorrow.

.) Frank Headley phoned for information for Baldwin on the tank job. Got it out.

.) Talked to Ted Adams about a telegraphic inquiry for price on 100 tank spindles for ACF - then put it up to Dick Miller who was very suspicious they are trying to have us tide them over until they can get into production on spindles themselves which is probably correct.

.) Wired Richmond on a speedometer complaint for Doc - wire came in yesterday and didn't have time to handle until this afternoon.
