In a half hour or so, the phone rang and it was one of Zeke's girlfriends- Zeke is really a bachelor as nearly as I am able to determine and supports his "old folks." The girl friend said she had two other friends with her and Zeke promply persuaded them to come down too - Brownie is now a widower, so with two unattached men present, it bore the marks of respectability all right. The Caterpillar Boy may be unmarried too - I think he is. So pretty soon after considerable persuasion Zeke walks the three girls, Mary, Dot and Marion, into the room and they huddle in a group together like refugees in an air raid shelter. About that time the door opens and Bert French walks in! That made seven men and three girls in the room. The girls took a drink and then wanted to leave but after much additional cajoling and persuasion, stayed for a second one. In the meantime, Bradley had to leave to catch a train and Bert French sacrificingly left also - five men and three girls left.

After the second drink the girls got up and made no bones about leaving then and there so we all left and Zeke finally persuaded them to go along with us for just one more drink and then they could go home - Fairfield on the East Lake Road was to be the place for the nightcap. We walked up Tenth St. to get our cars and as we passed the Central Recreation, Ken Wolf got the idea he wanted to bowl a game - so we all wound up in there, all eight of us bowling.
