Roy Goggin flew back to Boston this afternoon, finally making it after half a dozen unsuccessful tries. I often wonder why he wants to fly so badly, particularly today when he had to leave before the meeting was over. Sometimes, I suspect he has engagements in Boston in the evening. However, if so, that's his business.

We experimented last night with having Dusky sleep in the kitchen but this morning found the kitchen odorous from a "roll." Dusk is a problem.

Found the 6th and last pane of glass in the garage rear windows smashed today, Rog reporting Billy Weaver said yesterday they were going to smash it last night - but he forgot to tell us unfortunately. I'd sure like to catch Billy and the rest of them red handed.

Wrote Whitey a note today regretting our inability to accept his invitation to go to Penn State Nov. 2nd "on account of complications arising from getting someone to stay with the children." Actually it is lack of cash and complications with Mother. I had a rather bad spat with her tonight - she is dreadfully nervous and the last straw was our accepting an invitation to go to the Lamborns tomorrow evening after my being away so much. She excoriated Marion Lamborn for doing such a "mean thing" - Marion, of course, didn't even know I'd been away - said she always had disliked her - she had no manners - was ill brought up, etc. etc. until I just couldn't do anything but keep still and act none too pleased.
