Winter has struck us early. Yesterday a blizzard. Today temperature in the 20's with wind and some snow. Took the children to Frontier Place this afternoon to ski and sled and nearly froze myself in the icy wind with only a top coat on. I haven't used a scarf yet this fall and no sore throats yet so I believe my tonsil removal has done good - this would have been impossible a year ago. Most of the day I caught up on odd jobs and shopping - did a little G.E. work too. Willie acted more like herself today and I'm hopeful that last night's flare-up was not as serious as I thought then - also maybe it was what she needed - just to get it off her chest. I hope so for any serious complication in our domestic affairs right now would be a blow to me in getting a good start in my new job, where I certainly need all my powers of concentration with no distractions. I think my being home most of the time for a while will help too. Thursday the Colonel arrives so that will make this week okay I hope.
[[new paragraph]]This evening Willie and I went to the Reeds for a Tripoley party - Collins and Maybelle completing the gang. It was a merry party subtly swung along on the strong shoulders of Shenley's famed subtle Red Label blend, and moved only by the usual Reed heat - their apartment up to about 80° or better. Charlie has moved into the Motor Division and he seems happy. Maybelle acted cheerful - has gone back into her own house again I should think that would be rather dreary particularly with winter coming on but maybe she likes to live alone and do as she d___ pleases. I understand Walter goes up there to see her occasionally.
