A day of work around the place and getting my G.E. work organized. The Colonel came down with a cold that has him feeling rotten. It makes me realize that I must watch my own health this winter for I'm going to be under more pressure than ever before and shall need to be in A-1 physical shape. I have in mind some rules that I think will pretty well assure this:

.) Go easy on the smoking and drinking.
.) Get plenty of sleep.
.) Avoid exposure - going out sans coat, hat, etc.
.) Avoid sprees - late hours with customers, etc.
.) Avoid candy.
.) Take cod liver pills.
.) Get regular outdoor exercise.
.) Keep bowels regular.
.) Don't worry or let job get me down.

We had Thanksgiving dinner today, turkey and all and it was certainly delicious. Willie is always pleading that she is no cook but she certainly is and a good one too. Much as I hated to neglect the Colonel, who left tonight on the 7:57, I devoted much time to my office work and really felt I was getting somewhere in organizing it. Also devoted much time to thinking out the new allocation of work in our section which I think I now have laid out in a way to be fair and equitable to all. It includes giving Shap Army & Navy as he wanted but not [[underlined]] all [[underlined]] jobs associated with the defence program as he suggested. Jake may not like losing Army and Navy but I believe this is the way to handle it.
