MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION HELD FEBURARY 14, 1929

HOUR OF MEETING.

The Board met at the Smithsonian Institution at 10.00 o'clock A.M.

PRESENT:

Chief Justice William H. Taft, Chancellor, in the chair;
Vice President Charles G. Dawes;
Senator Reed Smoot;
Senator Joseph T. Robinson;
Senator Claude A. Swanson;
Representative R. Walton Moore;
Mr. Frederic A. Delano;
Mr. Irwin B. Laughlin; and the
Secretary, Dr. C. G. Abbot.
The Associate Secretary, Dr. Alexander Wetmore, was also present.

NON-ATTENDANCE.

The secretary stated that Mr. Brookings, Mr. Newton, Mr. Morrow and Dr.Merriam, were prevented from attending the meeting on account of absence from the City. Mr. Hughes and Mr. Johnson were unable to be present owing to important engagements. 

REAPPOINTMENT OF REGENTS.

The Secretary announced that the President had approved the Joint Resolution of Congress reappointing Mr. Delano and Mr. Laughlin as citizen
