MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE
BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION
HELD FEBRUARY 1^[[3]], 1930.

HOUR OF MEETING.

The Board met at the Institution at ten-o'clock A.M.

PRESENT.

The Honorable Charles Curtis, Vice President of the United States, in the chair;
Senator Reed Smoot;
Senator Claude A. Swanson;
Representative R. Walton Moore;
Representative Robert Luce;
Mr. Frederic A. Delano; and the 
Secretary, Dr. C. G. Abbot.
Dr.Alexander Wetmore, Assistant Secretary, was also present.

NON-ATTENDANCE.

The Secretary stated that Senator Joseph T. Robinson and the Honorable Dwight W. Morrow were in London attending the Disarmament Conference; the Honorable Irwin B. Laughlin was in Madrid as United States Ambassador; Mr. Robert S. Brookings was abroad; Dr. John C. Merriam was in New York in connection with a Board Meeting of the Carnegie Institution; and that Representative Albert Johnson and Mr. Charles Evans Hughes were unable to attend owing to engagements.

CHANGES IN MEMBERSHIP OF THE BOARD.

The Secretary announced the resignation of the Honorable William Howard Taft
