past three years the Corporation had in each year made a grant to the Institution of $15,000 to promote the work of the Division of Radiation and Organisms. It was probable that even larger grants may be made in future years.
The Secretary alluded to the large sums that had been given by Mr. Roebling to the Institution for its work in solar radiation and for other purposes.
Mr. Roebling had very recently added $2,500.00 for the purpose of purchasing books of reference on the subjects relating to radiation investigations.

INCREASE IN APPROPRIATIONS.
The Secretary said that, as just introduced in the House, the appropriations for the Institution were over $98,000 more than last year. This covered several items, including about $15,000 for a one-step increase for employees now inadequately compensated. In this connection, he desired to express his appreciation of the efforts of the House Regents - Messrs. Johnson, Moore and Luce, who had appeared before the Committee on Appropriation in support of this item.
It was added that this increase of $98,000 did not include the Zoo Park appropriation, which was cared for in the District of Columbia bill.

ADJOURNMENT.
There being no further business to come before the meeting, on motion the Board adjourned.
