PROCEEDINGS OF A REGULAR MEETING
OF THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION, HELD FEBRUARY 12, 1931.

HOUR OF MEETING.

The Board met at the Institution at 10.00 o'clock A.M.

PRESENT.

The Honorable Charles Evans Hughes, Chief Justice of the United States, Chancellor, in the chair;
Senator Joseph T. Robinson;
Senator Claude A. Swanson;
Representative Robert Luce;
Mr. Frederic A. Delano; and
The Secretary, Dr. C.G.Abbot.
Dr. Alexander Wetmore, Assistant Secretary, was also present.

NON-ATTENDANCE.

The secretary stated that Vice President Curtis, Senator Smoot, Representative R. Walton Moore, and Representative Albert Johnson, were prevented from attending by important engagements.  Also, that Mr. McLaughlin and Dr. Merriam were out of the city.

MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF DECEMBER 11, 1930.

The Secretary explained that these minutes, in typewritten form, had been supplied to the Regents, a majority of whom had indicated their approval. There being no objection, the Chancellor declared the minutes approved.
