PLAN FOR THE PROPOSED EXTENSION OF THE NATIONAL MUSEUM BUILDING.

The Secretary remarked that the Bureau of the Budget had recommended for the Second Deficiency bill an item of Ten Thousand dollars for the preparation of preliminary plans for the proposed extension of the Natural History Building, and said that it would be very advantageous if this item were kept in the bill at the time it passed. Mr. Luce consented to speak of this to the members of the Committee.

SMITHSONIAN GUIDEBOOK.

A small, condensed guidebook of the exhibition buildings, including the Zoo Park, has recently been printed and placed on sale in the Museum buildings. This pamphlet is profusely illustrated from photographs of the buildings, principal exhibits, etc., and serves both as a guide and a souvenir of the Institution, and finds a ready sale at ten cents each. During the past twenty-five days, in a time of the year when the number of visitors is the smallest of the year, over 2,400 copies have been sold. (The book was displayed to the Board.)

The Secretary also[[strikethrough]] [[?]] [[/strikethrough]] exhibited a pamphlet he had just issued under the title "Weather Dominated by Solar Changes", showing the results of many years of study, and explained the charts and tables in the work.

ADJOURNMENT.

There being no further business to come before the meeting, on motion the Board adjourned.
