ANNUAL REPORT OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE.

Mr. Delano presented the Report of the Executive Committee for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1931, showing the financial condition of the Institution for that period.

On Motion, the Report was accepted and ordered filed.

ANNUAL REPORT OF THE PERMANENT COMMITTEE.

Mr. Delano said there was no particular report to present; that the Permanent Committee and the Executive Committee frequently sat in meeting together, and that the Executive Committee's Report which covered the ground quite thoroughly had just been accepted.

ANNUAL REPORT OF THE NATIONAL GALLERY OF ART COMMISSION.

The Secretary stated that the Eleventh Annual Meeting of the Commission was held on the Regents Room of the Institution at 10.30 o'clock A.M. on December 8, 1931. The members present were - Mr. Gari Melchers, Chairman; Mr. Frank J. Mather,Jr., Vice Chairman; Dr. William H. Holmes,Secretary; and Messrs.Charles Borie, James E. Fraser, Charles Moore, E.C.Tarbell, and Dr.Charles G. Abbot, Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution, exofficio.

The minutes of the previous Annual Meeting were submitted and adopted, and the Annual Report of the Secretary of the Commission, reviewing the activities of the Gallery of the calendar year 1931, was also read and accepted.

After the transaction of the other current business, Dr.Holmes was directed to cast a ballot for the re-election of Mr. Gari Melchers as Chairman, Mr. Frank J. Mather,Jr.,as Vice-Chairman, and Dr. William H. Holmes as Secretary of the Commission for the ensuing year. In connection with the expiration
