The Punta (morro?) was well carpeted with green hard to believe its the same place I'd seen before sere and brown. Got in around 8^[[[[underlined]] 30 [[/underlined]]]] but had to await port officials. Capt. Victor Vicuña capt of port with inspector of mines (Escobar) and customs (Santos S.) Shortly after came ^[[E]] Watkins of oil Co. whom I'd met while with Hancock without suspenders; just a belt this time, & his little girl.

After lunch tide was low, & while Capt. went to repay port Capt's visit I went out on my old reef of 1926 off Salinas and collected a bit more muck. 

You'd never know Salinas many many houses new hotels, roadways, and modern bus service! ^[[Fairly good]] pier out from number of modern houses, but water has to be brought from Guayaquil in tank cars and sold down here; blond lady runs Tivoli Hotel=Czech
