Called on governor; took soldier as guide and  visited springs got 1/2 gal. water out of first & second, & was told third & second were equally good 
third largest, second deeper last (3d used for clothes washing had 3-4 lower ends of sawed down bbls 
For wash tubs one of which was floating in water

Finsen(photo'd it when we were at Acad Bay.)now has stone (lava) house with ^[[box]]says is related to Finsen light man [[/box]]heavy wooden door & shutters. Flat roof concrete & sheet iron for catching rain water. Dr. Blanch said he had tank & faucet inside, of which he was very proud. Soldier took me on top to see the grand view. (Funny what little height gives a man sense exhiliration) Took picture of the Mimi ( Anger meyer's craft) sides (clinker built) were said by soldier to be of mangrove (mangle) which he said grew to form large trees - must mean (Black mangrove.)
