Hatch told the Doctor what we had spent in repairing the boat, and also said that he would buy it, when it would be sold by the Government, then the Doctor told Hatch that he could trade it, but that when the Government sale took place, that Hatch would have to pay the difference between what this boat or dug-out was worth and the Government boat, so that it would be no loss to the Government. The Doctor told Hatch to go and see the man, and this is all I know about it.

I and Jim Hatch were at an expense of $19.60 in repairing the Government boat, and we paid $5.00 for bringing the horse here.

The Government boat would not float for half an hour, before we had her repaired, I had nothing to say about the trade, and dont know where to find, nor anything about the man who traded for the boat, I asked Hatch what the man's name was, but Hatch did not know what it was. The trade was all made before the horse arrived here. This horse has been used for Bureau purposes since we got it, whenever it was required.
