Colonel

In obedience to your instructions of the 11th inst. I have the honor to make the following Report:

I received part II and III Sp. O. No. 116 HdQrs A.C. Raleigh N.C. dated Nov. 11 1868 on the 12th inst; and set out for Yanceyville on the 13th, arriving there at 9 oclock P.M. This morning at 9 o'clock I repaired to the Office of Lieut. W.J. Dawes, relieved him of his duties as A.S.A.C., receipted for and took charge of the Bureau property and assumed charge of Caswell County.

As Yanceyville is so far removed from any Rail Road Station in N.C. (: 28 miles over the roughest and almost impassable Roads :) I respectfully suggest that I be allowed to continue Company Shops as my HdQrs.
