Well, anyway, as Bobby Gaylor used to say, I sold my alte freund Bunny five hundred bales more this morning. I've earned my salary for at least this week.

Smith and I got the punkah wallah and some of the tennis wallahs scrapping with the gloves yesterday in the Ivory Chamber (sounds good, but it's a rotten old hole, sumptuous furnished with a [[underlined]] pair [[/underlined]] of scales and a few empty boxes) for the tremenjous sum of eight annas. The milling being equal, we divided the gate at the end of the third session. The next meeting for members will be held Sunday week. An attractive programme

Still working hard. I've been chasing over to Bunny's and chasing back for ages, over this D deal, so it seems. I'm ashamed to look my cable bill in the face. Still, I've sold him a thousand bales inside a wk., - I'll probably have another thousand within the next few days, and if the rest of this deal goes, about nine hundred more. What's a few hundred rupees for cables?

3rd (continued)
has been arranged, headed by Black Sharkey vs. Smoky Midnight McCorbett, who will mill five periods for 75 pc. of the gross, - ice-water to the loser. The usual assesment of Rs [[rupee]] 4 will be in order.
