Nothing doing downstairs. In fact, damfino what I'm going to do here unless I start buying ivory again.  That Benian was sore today to learn I'd sold 'em all to Bunny, after he'd been working for a month to earn a little baksheesh.  The poor sod, - he works hard, but I can't forget what his wife washes the dishes in.  He'll get no fooloos from me until he delivers the goods.  I hate those bloody Benians, I do.  

Smith and I have got a jaunt on for tonight.

Last night, about half past ten Smith and I started up Shum Shum.  Took it easy, going up in a little under an hour.  Had some grub when we got up to the top, and then we sat up looking at the sights for a while.  A few rude clouds happened along, and hid everything below us, and then a little later we were enveloped in them, which lasted until daybreak. We turned in, wrapped up in steamer rugs, at about two, and it was damned cold before morning, I tell you.  The clouds hid the sun until seven, and by that time it was away up in the sky.
