We're getting a whiff of hot weather. just a mere whiff, every now and then, to remind us what we will soon be up against. They say Aden is hell in the "good old summer-time." Guess I'll have to leave off my winter flannels tomorrow. That means nothing more or less than saving a clean shirt a day. We certainly have had slick treatment from the weather man this winter, though.

Smith had a mouth like a litter of pups this morning, I guess. I noticed he didn't foam into the office until twelve. He wasn't so overstuck on working today.

I told Bunny yesterday I had another offer on 400 more Abujamal, and begged him to give me a bid and get them into his own hands. No use, - when Bunny's sot, he's sot. ^[[He would "consider."]] He asked me this morning if I'd had a cable from NY. and I told him I hadn't had a word. Selim smiled a meaning smile, but he'd have grinned on the other side of his face if he'd only known I'd knocked 'em down half an hour previous. My cable accepted my offer, but I got another half-rupee on the price this morning. It wasn't bad, - just like finding Rs 200.

I wish somebody would slip [[underlined]] me [[/underlined]] that amount.
