I believe I did go over to
Bait Benine's today, but
all I did was [[crossed out]] th [[/crossed out]] to
grasp the old man's fist
and say a few kind
woids to Howart ere I
beat it. It wasn't a notable
session, by any means. We
must get something up to
fight about next time, just
for old time's sake.
Besse and I lost a hard
rubber tonight. It was
twenty eight all in the
first, and 28 to 26 in the
second game, but they
walked away with the
money each time. It
was a great game.
   Our bosom friend Ike
received the frozen face in
the club tonight. Patience is
a virtue that Smith and
RiƩs have lost.

Slanthu!
I went over to Smith's after
dinner and had a green
drink with him, but that's
about all there was doing
today.
   Bunny did send over
some few rupees amounting
to about ten thousand
plunks, but we hardly
take any notice of those
little trifles nowadays.
We turn up our nasal
projection at anything less
than a lakh.
