We've been so busy killing time lately that I've let the diary go for a whole week. Well, there was nothing doing today, I guess that's a cinch.

Nothing today but the mail and Naish both showing up at five. Naish has been up through the Red Sea and down the Nile, and has been having wan hell uv a time, from all accounts. But it wasn't fair to tell us about his base amoors in Cairo,- it wasn't fair.

Dr. Blount was over for dinner tonight. He got here from Bagdad yesterday. I wonder how my old college chum the Caliph is these days. Dear old Caley! I'll never forget that last dinner we had together at Sherry's! He certainly [[underlined]] was [[/underlined]] squiffed that night.
