Mac set 'em up over at his bungalow tonight. He not only set 'em up once, but several times. It pains me to record the indisputable fact that neighbor Schmidtt ^[[again]] had his lee rail slightly awash. He gets carelesser and carelesser every time.

When I got home, and as I stood out on the veranda in my robe du nuit before turning in, the blink was starting to sprinkle the tennis court, and the Aden roosters were blithesomely carolling. Schirmer startled me at twelve today by reminding me of Cremaschi's tiffin. I'd forgotten all about it. Well, anyway, we beat it over, and gorged ourselves on Italian foodstuffs and drinkstuffs until we were black in the fratz. The change did our appetites good.

I was sorter dubious, two or three hours later, when I started in to swat the nimble tennis ball, but I hung out long enough to put the everlasting kibosh on the "Abe Stein crowd." The which gratified us somewhat.
