I have nothing to chronicle today save that I've worried most of my remaining hair grey over this blood Adamally mess. What a ^[[row]] a little slip comprising half a cable word can muster. And what an unmitigated ass I was then! Why I said "100 monthly" instead of naming the months is unaccountable to me now. I only hope I don't lose my job before I get a chance to live this down.

Summer is closing in on us. The barricades were closed on all sides today. And the wi-i-nds howled without and the dust dusted.

We went down to see Adamally this morning. He said he would chuck the 100 bales, [[strikethrough]] first [[/strikethrough]] and no argument would shake him, but he said he would take the other two lots. Then he mentioned that his customer had left for Tawahi to see the Chamber of Commerce to find out if he could reject the whole lot if the first batch wasn't on time. As soon as I heard this I closed quick with Adamally about the 200 Bs. and we agreed to leave the other 100 in Abeyance.

When Paleologo got back from the Point he of course had the decision on his side. We have Adamally lashed to the mast on those 200 Bs., though.
