I'm still working hard trying to get something to do, but the hoodoo is still on my trail. I got an offer tonight but the intending customer wanted the whole bill-of-fare changed, from finances and the stamp down to the very stitches on the sample. It would have cost a month's expenses to cable the thing. Try again.

By gum, but there are days when this loafing and killing time all day long, one week after the other, palls on one. If there [[strikethrough]] was [[/strikethrough]] were only a Broadway or Leicester Square here, with a couple of good shows, and chorus girls on tap, we might [[strikeout]] [[unreadable]] [[/strikeout]] get up a little somethin' doin' once in a while. But it's awfully stupid now, old chap, and all that sort of thing. I say, it's beastly, you know, positively beastly.
