It seems that Mac told some of those political suckers a few homely truths some few weeks ago, and tonight they had a General Meeting to see whether he should be chucked out of the club or not. That asinine DeBrath,- his "General" must mean "general debility"- conducted the proceedings in a way that any self respecting yaller dog would be ashamed of. He's a pup if there ever was one. However, his hysterical anxiety to run Mac out failed in the end, [[strikethrough]]but[[/strikethrough]] ^[[and]] the Gen. and Berry ^[[& Merriweather]] showed a generous proportion of yellow before they were finally turned down. Asses all!

Back to the humdrum again. Bunny talked a lot about buying some goods, but it won't come off. I guess, as Jones Sahib says, Bunny is getting old and afraid. He is not the Bunny of old, says JAJ. I s'pose the old man has been throwing the hooks into me these past few days,- in fact, he told me today, with a triumphant smile on his face, that Mr. Jones wanted me at Mombasa. It wasn't quite the shock to me that Bunny expected, though.
