Figuring up Bridge returns this month I find I'm seventeen and three-quarters dibs ahead of the game. Not so bad, is it? It brings my reserve a/c down to four dibs to the bad. Eight months play is surely worth four rupees! I have realized one of the ambitions of my life,- the club paid [[underlined]] me [[/underlined]] this month!

After a hard day's work downstairs,- writing out three pages of cash a/c and sending a wire to Mombasa,- we beat it over to Slipps for tea, and afterwards were prevailed to stay for dinner. We sent out a call to round up Smith, and we had a few rubbers. This society life is killin' me. It was nigh twelve ere we wended our 'omeward way. Yes, absolutely.
