That damned bridge that Tish & Sykora put in, came out today, and I've got a hole in the side of my face that seems large enough to drive a load of hay through. By gum, the day after I paid Tish the damned thing started to get loose! Damitall.

Well, it cost me only seventeen plunks to teach me never to go to a bum dentist again, and maybe the lesson is cheap at the price. The worst of it is the scarcity of dentists in these parts, - it's a comforting thought to know the nearest one is in Bombay!

I chased all over hellangone today trying to get that bridge pasted back in my face, but no use. The morning was consumed in visiting the British warship and the two hospitals, and in the afternoon I tried the Parsee Dispensary, but it was no go. I suppose now I'll have to wait until Blunt shows up before I can get it fixed, and if he doesn't stop here I'll have to wait until I get home. Never again, Tish, you can gamble on that.
