Sent off my ivory today. With Bunny's lot, the two make 145 tusks, and next week I will sell my draft for a modest £5200. Parker, who mismanages the Bank here, (at any rate the way he quotes us) says it's a prize one for Aden. Then I have about £4000 worth of cotton drafts to pay this mail and next, so I think the Agcy a/c for October will total something.

Jones Sahib left on the 23rd ultimo. He did a big business with Bunny, as I've already hinted, and now I am getting excited about Mombasa.

Gee whiz, but I'm about 'steen days behind already on this joinal. I've been busy lately.

This mail I got a picture of the silk I sent home to Edie last January, only the kid herself was inside it. Made it herself, too! I tell you I am mighty tickled with it and with myself for the kind of a mate I've picked out. She is all to the merry when it comes to building rainment, and that's one diminutive asset, I tell you. Oh, but [[strikethrough]] she has [[/strikethrough]] ^[[there are]] thousands of reasons why she is it!
