Thoisday,- there was nuttin' doin' save fifteen minutes at Mac's. A very urgent chit brought me over there. Mac was slightly soused. He had his lee rail under for sure. [[strikeout]] ^[[He]] patted me gently on the crown a few times to signify his approbation in my coming over, and then I beat it. Mac is apt to be a little too vigorous in his cups, and he was feeling particularly strong tonight. Not for mine.

Stritt last night made a proposition for a trip to Lahej this weekend, so we drove down to the Abkari this morning to interview the Asst. Thingembob, and got the desired permission. Just now we intend to start tomorrow night, but that's pretty short notice. From Doleshal's description of the place it must be very interesting. The donkey ride put him out of commission for six days. I shall look forward to that.
