Nothing to chronicle save that Stritt and I are at it again, I got the first set 8-6, after another scare just like last time. The second set I had him in the same position, with only one point to win, and lost it. That discouraged me completely and I gave up the third when Stritt got five one. We started another and quit at 2-1 in favor of the other feller. I don't know whats the matter with me,- I get 5-3 or 40-15 with comparative ease, only to lose. Me nerves are gone to hell.

I have been busily chasing back and forth between Bunny's and here the last few days, but so far have got nothing for my pains. But the old sod will have to sell his ivory sooner or later, and nine chances out of ten he'll have to sell it to us. He'll only lose if he tries to monkey around holding it, same's he did last time. That funny business of his last November cost the old man considerably over five hundred quid, an a year's interest besides. But he will be sot, "sod him." He won't learn.
